This gorgeous hand painted Shalom sign is beautifully hand painted with vibrant array of colours and decorative patterns, including a lovely pomegranate motif. A classic Jewish decorative motif, the pomegranate has been grown for thousands of years in the Mediterranean region, and is referenced throughout the Bible as one of the 7 species native to the Land of Israel. In addition, the pomegranate has some of the deepest and richest symbolism in Judaism as its many seeds symbolise the abundance of righteousness, prosperity and wisdom.

About the Artist
Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colours as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterise Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilised encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
